TOPIC:

SHINNING AS LIGHT.

As believers, we are called to shine as lights in a dark world. The Bible tells us in Matthew 5:14-16,

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

This verse reminds us that we are called to be a beacon of hope and truth in a world that is often filled with darkness. It is easy to be overshadowed by the darkness that surrounds us, but we must remember that we have the light of God within us. We have the power to bring light into the lives of those around us, to bring hope where there is despair, and to bring love where there is hate.

It is important for us to remember that we are not called to blend in with the darkness, but to stand out as a shining light. We are called to be different, to be set apart, and to be a reflection of God’s love and grace. We must not be afraid to let our light shine brightly, even when it may be uncomfortable or unpopular.

In Ephesians 5:8, we are reminded, “For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” This verse serves as a powerful reminder that we have been transformed from darkness into light through our relationship with Christ. We are called to walk in the light, to live lives that reflect the love and truth of God.

As we strive to shine as lights in a dark world, we must remember that our light comes from God. We cannot shine on our own strength or power, but only through the power of the Holy Spirit working within us. We must continually seek God’s guidance and strength as we seek to be a light in the world.

So let us not be overshadowed by the darkness that surrounds us, but let us shine brightly as lights of God’s love and grace. Let us be a beacon of hope and truth in a world that is in desperate need of light. Let us remember that we are called to be the light of God, and to let our light shine before others, so that they may see our good works and give glory to our Father who is in heaven.
